RENO, Nev. (KOLO) – A Reno man is facing charges after the DOJ says he was distributing child pornography.
Zachary Steven Stockinger appeared in federal court on Thursday after the DOJ says he distributed and possessed child sex abuse material of children younger than 12 through most of June of this year.
Stockinger has now been charged with one count of distribution of child pornography and one count of possession of child pornography.
His trial will begin in December, and, if found guilty, he could face a maximum of 30 years in prison.
“There is absolutely no room for leniency when it comes to the exploitation of children,” said First Assistant United States Attorney Sigal Chattah for the District of Nevada. “Our office, alongside our law enforcement partners, will use every aggressive legal avenue available to dismantle this destructive cycle and ensure that predators face the maximum severity of federal law.”
