LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Well-known YouTube personality Bryant Moreland, widely recognized online as “EDP445,” was arrested this week in Henderson on four felony sex crime charges involving a minor stemming from a California case.
Moreland was taken into custody and booked into the Clark County Detention Center.
According to the Kern County District Attorney’s Office in California, the charges stem from a 2021 investigation involving a victim under the age of 14. At the time, Moreland was not charged because reporting parties did not cooperate with law enforcement, officials said.
However, prosecutors said statements Moreland made in a 2026 documentary titled “The Sick Mind of EDP445” revived the case and ultimately led to his arrest in Southern Nevada.
Documentary creator Mike Clum said most of the production was filmed in Las Vegas, where Moreland had been living.
“I was surprised when the investigation was opened,” Clum said. “I was reached out to by Kern County. Obviously, my documentary footage—while the intent wasn’t to gather evidence—it ended up being evidence.”
In footage featured in the documentary, Moreland addressed the allegations, at one point referencing his actions involving a 13-year-old and attributing them to “desperation.”
Clum noted that Moreland’s demeanor varied throughout filming.
“He processes what happened, he goes through phases,” Clum said. “There’s times he feels remorse… then he extroverts that and says that’s someone else’s fault. It depends on his mood.”
Online Reaction and Arrest
Moreland previously amassed millions of followers on YouTube before becoming one of the platform’s most notorious figures following the initial allegations.
After criminal charges were filed this week, fellow content creator Jidon Adams, known online as “JiDion,” flew from Texas to Henderson to witness Moreland’s arrest in person.
“This arrest was so important because he’s one of ours, sadly,” Adams said. “We all have been wanting this to happen for so long. It’s been an inside joke in our community of, like, he’s untouchable. He can’t get arrested.”
As of Thursday, officials have not confirmed any local charges against Moreland in Las Vegas or Clark County. FOX5 reached out to the Clark County Detention Center to request an interview with Moreland, but jail officials stated interviews were not permitted due to his housing location within the facility.
Extradition proceedings to California remain pending.
