LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – A Tuesday evening crash in the north Las Vegas Valley required multiple lanes of traffic to be closed.
According to a preliminary report from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, the crash happened at approximately 6:45 p.m. on westbound Ann Rd. before Jones Blvd.
Police said a woman was driving westbound on Ann Rd., just west of Jones, when her vehicle broke down. The victim and several bystanders were attempting to push the vehicle off the road when the car was struck by another westbound driver.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. All involved parties remained on the scene and police said impairment of the driver who hit the victim is suspected to be a factor in the crash.
Ann Rd. is currently closed in both directions from Calvert to Bradley as authorities investigate the scene. It is unknown when the road will reopen.
LVMPD advises everyone to avoid the area and use other routes.
