LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – The Henderson Police Department has released body-worn camera footage following a weekend-long barricade in the city last month.

On April 12 at approximately 11:20 a.m., the HPD Criminal Apprehension Team for Major Violators Unit responded to the 200 block of Callen Falls Avenue in reference to capturing a wanted subject involved in a violent felony case. Officers arriving on the scene were advised that the armed suspect had barricaded himself inside a residence and refused to surrender.

On Monday afternoon, the Henderson Police Department provided an update on a weekend-long barricade that ended with a suspect found dead.

HPD SWAT entered the residence at about 8:45 a.m. the next morning, where the suspect fired multiple rounds. One officer returned fire toward the suspect and all of the police backed out of the residence.

HPD said that the suspect was not struck by this gunfire and no officers were injured during this encounter. Negotiations continued for several more hours.

Police found the suspect dead at approximately 12:45 a.m. on April 14. FOX5 is reviewing the footage and this story will be updated once that process is complete.
