LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Las Vegas Metropolitan Police said Summerlin residents are being targeted by a new phone scam.

LVMPD said the scam involves suspects calling you and pretending to be your bank. Police said the suspects will tell you about suspicious activity and even text you a verification code to seem legitimate.

Even scarier, police said the suspects will send a “representative” to pick up the credit card “for destruction,” then instead use your card around town until it is canceled.

LVMPD said no bank will ever send a “representative” to pick up your card and said when in doubt, call your bank directly.
