LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — A Pahrump man died Thursday, July 2, after his vehicle left its travel lane and struck a median cable barrier on northbound State Route 160, according to the Nevada Highway Patrol.

The crash was reported at approximately 11:35 a.m. near mile marker 32 on SR-160. The Nevada Highway Patrol is a division of the Nevada State Police.

What investigators found

A preliminary investigation indicates a white 2022 Chevrolet Equinox was traveling northbound on SR-160, just south of mile marker 32, in the number one travel lane. The driver failed to maintain the marked travel lane, entered the left shoulder and struck a median cable barrier with the vehicle’s left front.

Troopers found the driver unresponsive and rendered aid. The driver was transported to a local area hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.

Driver identified

The driver was identified as 42-year-old Dustin Yager of Pahrump, Nevada. The cause of death is pending at this time.
