LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Las Vegas police released new details about the arrest of Devion Teague, who they say is connected to a deadly robbery in southwest Las Vegas on May 12 near Rochelle Avenue and Halo Hollyhock Street.

Investigators said a woman was shot in the chest during an armed robbery and was pronounced dead at the scene.

A second victim told detectives the suspect approached them during their usual morning walk and demanded their belongings at gunpoint.

Police said the suspect, later identified as Teague, then shot the other woman, took both victims’ satchels, and ran away on foot.

Surveillance video captured the encounter and showed the suspect arriving and leaving in a gray Audi SUV. Detectives later linked the vehicle to a reported stolen 2013 Audi Q5 and contacted the registered owner, who told police she left her keys in the car around 10 p.m. May 11.

Investigators later learned she was married to Teague, who they said matched the suspect’s general description.

Police also said phone-location records placed Teague’s phone near the shooting scene at the time of the robbery and later showed movement consistent with the Audi until it was abandoned.

The Audi was reported stolen at 7:38 a.m.

Later that day, officers set up surveillance, called Teague’s phone, and arrested him after he came outside.

Teague was booked into the Clark County Detention Center on charges of open murder with a deadly weapon and robbery with a deadly weapon.

Records also show he had outstanding warrants for burglary-related charges.

A judge ordered him held without bail during a court appearance Wednesday.

He is due back in court May 18.
