LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — The inaugural EDC parade is just around the corner, and motorists should prepare for upcoming closures along the north end of the Las Vegas Strip.
Motorists should expect the following closures to begin as early as 5 p.m. on Thursday, May 14:
- Through midnight: Las Vegas Blvd (both directions) closed between Genting Blvd & Sahara Ave
- Through 9:00 PM: Sahara Ave & Las Vegas Blvd closed in ALL directions
Floats are scheduled to roll down Las Vegas Boulevard starting at 6 p.m., beginning at the Las Vegas Festival Grounds. The route is expected to pass properties including Circus Circus, Fontainebleau, Resorts World, and Sahara.

The floats will be accompanied by performers, entertainers, and marching bands, and the parade is expected to last about two and a half hours.
Drivers not attending should use alternate routes, expect delays, and allow extra travel time in the area.
Those heading to the parade are encouraged to arrive early.
