LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — A Las Vegas elementary school is receiving $15,000 to help cover classroom expenses.

Subaru of Las Vegas donated Tuesday through its “Subaru Loves Learning” initiative. Thiriot Elementary School says the money will help teachers buy supplies without having to spend as much of their own money.

Teachers at Thiriot Elementary School in Las Vegas are receiving $500 each to ease the financial burden of buying classroom supplies.(KVVU)

Jessica Dorothy, a kindergarten teacher, said the donation will ease the financial burden on teachers.

“This is fantastic that it’s not going to be hitting my pocket quite so hard,” Dorothy said.

The donation will support 25 classrooms and more than 525 students, with teachers receiving $500 each to buy supplies.
