LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – A bicyclist was left with critical injuries on Monday evening after a hit-and-run crash in the east valley.

According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, a bicyclist was struck while attempting to cross Sahara Avenue from north to south, west of the intersection with South Lamb Boulevard, around 6:54 p.m. The vehicle that struck the bicyclist — identified as a 2010 Mazda 3 — collided with the bicyclist, knocking him to the ground, and fled the scene.

Arriving medical personnel transported the bicyclist to Sunrise Hospital, where he remains in “critical condition.”

Police located the Mazda a short time later, though it was unoccupied.
