LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — The Vegas Loop has been operating in Las Vegas for several years, and The Boring Company continues to add more stops, expanding underground transportation across the city.

FOX5’s Sophia Bruinsma has been tracking the newest Loop updates, with new routes hoped to be added ahead of Formula 1.

According to the Boring Company, new stops will be opening soon, but a date has still not been announced. A representative from The Boring Company told FOX5 in September the goal was to have these stops completed before November’s Formula 1 race.

A new stop is under construction by the UNLV campus, across from the Thomas & Mack Center. The Boring Co. said they are hoping for connecting routes from the new UNLV stop to major resorts like the Westgate and the Virgin Hotel.

“The Vegas Loop was awesome. It’s the most convenient way to get around Vegas,” one rider said.

FOX5 has since reached out to The Boring Company, the LVCVA and Clark County for an update, but they did not provide one at this time.

Riders say the system is fast and affordable. Conference-goers went from the Convention Center to Resorts World for just under $5 for a single ride.

“It’s just easy,” one rider said of the Loop, adding the trip takes about four minutes. Asked about the price, the rider said, “Just fine. Didn’t mind it.”

Another rider said the Loop will likely help with F1 traffic. “I’ve never been to F1 here, so I don’t know. But probably. Less traffic.”

There are currently over a dozen Loop stations built in Las Vegas, with 14 more coming soon. The goal is to connect many more areas of Las Vegas through the underground system in the future.

Planned additions include stops in Chinatown and at AREA15. Clark County and the Boring Company have not provided more information or timelines on those projects.
