LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Two brothers have been arrested in connection to a ‘”firework-type” device explosion at a Henderson church in March.

Henderson Police Department determined that the device exploded around 8 p.m. inside the gymnasium of a Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, injuring four people during a “youth activity.”

On Friday morning, police announced the arrest of 18-year-old brothers Caden and Conner Renard in connection to the incident. Both brothers are facing 23 charges, which include battery, possessing an explosive device, and burglary with a deadly weapon.

Members of the church told FOX5 on the day of the incident that this was the third incident that had happened at the location, which police also later confirmed.

“At this time, these events do not appear to be racially/ethnically motivated or a religious hate crime,” police noted in a release.

In full, Connor Renard is facing the following charges:

  • 1 count Battery with a Deadly Weapon
  • 5 counts Battery with use of a Deadly Weapon with Substantial Bodily Harm
  • 1 count Arson 1st degree
  • 2 counts Possess Explosive Device
  • 2 counts Possess Explosive Device Components with Intent
  • 1 count Possess Explosive Device in Public Area
  • 1 count Use Explosive Device in the Commission of a Felony
  • 2 counts Use Explosive Device to Damage/Destroy Property
  • 2 counts Burglary while in possession of a Deadly Weapon
  • 2 counts Damage Religious Property
  • 2 counts Coerce with Force or Threat of Force
  • 1 count of Conspiracy to use Explosive in Commission of a Felony

In full, Caden Renard is facing the following charges:

  • 6 counts Battery with a Deadly Weapon
  • 2 counts Burglary while in possession of a Deadly Weapon
  • 2 counts Arson 1st degree
  • 3 counts Possess Explosive Device
  • 1 count Possess Explosive Device Components with Intent
  • 1 count Use Explosive Device in the Commission of a Felony
  • 1 count Use Explosive Device in the Commission of a Felony
  • 2 counts Coerce with Force or Threat of Force
  • 1 count Possess Explosive Device in Public Area
  • 2 counts Damage Religious Property
  • 2 counts Use Explosive Device to Damage/Destroy Property
