LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — A busy intersection near Harry Reid International Airport is closed this week as construction crews continue work on the I-215 and Airport Connector Interchange project, Clark County officials announced.
The intersection of Arby Avenue and Bermuda Road closed at 5 a.m. Monday, Aug. 3, and is scheduled to remain closed until 12 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 8.

During the six-day closure, crews will remove the existing asphalt pavement, regrade the aggregate base, and repave the intersection. County officials warn motorists to expect significant traffic delays and plan for detours in the immediate area.
The road work is part of Phase 3 of the $49.5 million I-215 and Airport Connector Interchange project. The massive infrastructure undertaking includes:
- Widening the Sunset Road off-ramp from one lane to two to increase capacity.
- Widening the northbound Airport Connector from three to four lanes between the westbound I-215 on-ramp and the Sunset Road exit.
- Constructing a new ramp from eastbound I-215 connecting the northbound Airport Connector to a dedicated Sunset Road off-ramp lane, which includes a new bridge.
- Realigning the westbound I-215 on-ramp to the northbound Airport Connector.
- Realigning George Crockett Road to the northbound Airport Connector on-ramp to improve safety and merge distances.
Detour routes are marked, and drivers are encouraged to seek alternate routes to avoid delays.
