“They represented the Silver State, Mountain West and U.S. from coast to coast, now it is time to bring the party home to Henderson,” the city said.

Paseo Verde captures the U.S. Championship win in a dominant 12-2 victory over Ohio on Saturday, Aug. 29. They faced off against Curaçao for a chance at the Little League World Series title.

Player Adrian Cruz told FOX5 on Thursday, “For the work we did there, no one expected us to get that far. And I think that we deserve all the things we’re getting right now. So, it feels good.”

When the team fell to Curaçao in the following match, team manager Cory Edwards said it was an emotional moment.

“It was more of just the game wasn’t going our way,” Edwards said. “And the kids were feeling the emotions of that. And I want to make sure that, you know, win or lose, if they’re proud of themselves, but also carrying themselves in the right way. I think that’s super important when you’re faced with adversity.”

More details about the parade are expected soon.
