LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Check your mailbox carefully: scammers are targeting Clark County residents with counterfeit jury summons notices.
The Eighth Judicial District Court issued a warning after fraudulent postcards began circulating across the valley. Officials said the mailers are crafted to look nearly identical to official court documents, complete with official-looking formatting, assigned group numbers, and counterfeit barcodes or scanner codes.
Court administrators pointed out several major red flags to help residents identify the bogus mailers:
- Reporting dates set on unusual days, such as Saturdays or court holidays.
- Unfamiliar phone numbers that do not match official Clark County court lines.
- Prompts or codes that direct recipients to unofficial websites asking for sensitive personal or financial details.

Court officials stressed that legitimate summons notices will never direct people to suspicious websites requesting confidential information.
