LAS VEGAS, Nev. (KOLO) – A Cuban man has pleaded guilty to assaulting officers and local law enforcement at Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas.

The DOJ says that Jhon Raul Vizcaino Ramirez admitted to the November 2025 assault.

The DOJ says he also presented a TSA screening officer a boarding pass in the name of another person and attempted to enter the passenger boarding area. After refusing to provide his ID, Ramirez then assaulted the TSA officer.

Officers attempted to detain him as he resisted arrest, and assaulted several additional TSA officers during the altercation.

He pleaded guilty to two counts of interference with security personnel, two counts of assault, resisting or impeding a person assisting officers, and one count of entry by false pretenses to a secure area of the airport.

Ramirez will be sentenced on Sept. 10 and faces 10 years in prison, three years of parole and a fine of $250,000.

The DOJ says Ramirez was originally found by Border Patrol in October 2022 near Yuma, Arizona after authorities say he illegally entered the country.

They say he was released due to a lack of detention space and remained in the country illegally since his release.

He has now been placed on an ICE detainer.
