WASHINGTON DC (KOLO) – A new bill from Senator Jacky Rosen would expand security cooperation between the United States and Ukraine.
She and Mike Rounds (R-SD) introduced the Strategic Unmanned Systems Partnership Act on Tuesday.
The bill would create a working group between the Department of Defense, the Armed Forces of Ukraine and others to develop and acquire Ukrainian drones and surface vehicles, as well as the capability of countering the weapons.
“The use of drones and other unmanned systems has proven to be a central feature of modern conflict, and after more than four years of resisting Russia’s illegal invasion, Ukraine has become a leader in rapidly developing these emerging technologies,” said Senator Rosen. “By partnering with Ukraine and capitalizing on their expertise, we can ensure that both the U.S. and Ukraine are equipped with the latest technologies to bolster our mutual security and deepen our defense cooperation.
