LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Construction to extend the Echo Bay launch ramp down to 1,035 feet began in May and is expected to continue through December.
The launch ramp will remain open to recreational boaters during construction via one lane of portable mat. Vehicle and vessel operators are urged to use extreme caution in the area, as launching and retrieving motorized boats, kayaks, paddleboards or personal watercraft will be at boaters’ own risk.

The construction is part of Lake Mead National Recreation Area’s effort to maintain lake access amid changing water levels at the park.
Echo Bay can be accessed via Overton from the north or the Las Vegas Valley from the south. Dry camping and spots with full RV hookups are available for overnight stays.
The area includes a convenience store, land-based fuel, bathrooms, a fish cleaning station and day-use areas along the water.
