Clark County formally designated the stretch of Maryland Parkway from Flamingo to Desert Inn as “Filipino Town” last October after decades of growth in the local Filipino-American community.
The designation honors the community’s heritage and presence along that corridor. Supporters hope it will help the district grow even more.
“We are hoping that this Filipino Town will come to the progression wherein a lot of Filipino businesses and other entities will come to Filipino Town and merge together, so that we can promote our own identity,” said Bernie Benito, president of Filipino Town Las Vegas.
Along the Filipino Town corridor, visitors can find restaurants, bakeries and shops, along with Filipino-owned professional offices from law to medicine.
