LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Sunrise Trauma, Sunrise Children’s Hospital, Safe Kids Clark County and Wheelzen Rides are hosting a free community bike safety event Tuesday, offering helmets and safety education to children across Southern Nevada.
Doctors said they have documented more than 424 traumatic e-bike and e-scooter injuries across Southern Nevada since January.

What to expect at the event
The first 50 children to arrive will receive a free bike helmet, a personalized fitting and bike safety lessons. Children will also learn how to select the right helmet for both regular bikes and motorized devices.
The free helmets are available only to children under 16 and are designated for non-motorized bicycles only.
Children must be present to receive a helmet. Distribution is first come, first served.
The event runs Tuesday, July 21, from 10 a.m. to noon at ER at Boulder’s Edge, located at 1501 Wagonwheel Drive in Henderson.
If families are unable to attend the helmet giveaway, Ped Safe Las Vegas also offers helmets, organizers said. More information is available on the PedSafe Pedestrian Safety Nevada website.
