HENDERSON (FOX5) — Amazon Prime Day kicks off next week, and a Henderson warehouse is preparing for the rush.
The warehouse is at the front end of Amazon’s network. 2,600 workers there receive and route the inventory that becomes Prime Day deals before a single order is placed.
“We actually set up Prime Day. Prime Day doesn’t start without us,” said Jess Desautels, the general manager at the warehouse. “We get all of the items that are going to sell at the fulfillment centers.”

Warehouse leaders say the facility is known as one of the fastest-moving warehouses in the country, which keeps workers busy year-round. The high volume creates opportunities for jobs and overtime.
“A lot of vendors want to send their product here because they know we push it through quickly,” Desautels said. “Sometimes that means we will over-assign and get extra work that we weren’t planning, which is honestly great because it keeps us busy throughout the year. When that happens and we have extra work, we offer overtime.”
Leaders also say the warehouse helps boost the state economy since many independent sellers in Nevada want to send their products there.
