LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — The City of Henderson is inviting kids 18 and under to visit City Hall with a registered voter to cast their ballot for their favorite ice cream flavor during the Primary Election.
Early voting begins Saturday, May 23, and Election Day is June 9.
In the 2024 General Election, more than 1,450 young voters cast ballots for their favorite ice cream flavor. The winning candidate, Cookies & Cream, has decided not to seek reelection.
The race is now on between Chocolate, Cookie Dough, Mint Chip and Rainbow Sherbert.
Every young voter who participates will receive a special “I Voted” sticker and a free scoop of ice cream courtesy of Purple Penguin Snowcone Shack. The top two flavors will advance to the General Election in November.
Ballot Drop-Off:
- Saturday, May 16 – Friday, May 22: 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
- Saturday, May 23 – Friday, June 5: 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. Sundays, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. all other days (closed Memorial Day)
- Saturday, June 6 – Monday, June 8: 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
In-Person Voting:
- Saturday, May 23 – Friday, June 5: 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. Sundays, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. all other days (closed Memorial Day)
Election Day (In-Person Voting & Ballot Drop-Off):
- Tuesday, June 9: 7 a.m. – 7 p.m.
Mail ballots should be mailed by June 2. If not mailed by that date, bring to a ballot drop-off location.
