HENDERSON (FOX5) — Henderson police have announced the results of their distracted driving traffic safety crackdown.

According to HPD, the enforcement effort ran from April 1 through April 19 as part of the Nevada “Joining Forces” program, which aims to reduce crashes by increasing awareness of dangerous driving behavior.

The traffic enforcement campaign targeting distracted and reckless driving resulted in officers making 309 stops and issuing dozens of citations, HPD said.

Of the motorists stopped, officers issued 85 distracted driving citations and 153 speeding citations, according to the department. Police also issued 11 citations for intersection violations and 30 citations for other traffic-related offenses.

The Henderson Police Department said it received $174,500 in grant funding for enhanced enforcement through the Nevada Department of Public Safety’s Office of Traffic Safety as part of the 2026 Joining Forces program.
