LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – The attorney of Duane ‘Keffe D’ Davis has filed a motion for a new trial related to the jail fight caught on camera.
On April 9, a Clark County Jury found Davis guilty for Battery by a Prisoner.
His attorney is claiming a juror was discussing the case with other jurors during a lunch break prior to deliberations.
According to Defense Attorney Carl E.G. Arnold this is in violation of the court’s direct instructions. He believes this has compromised the integrity of the verdict and did not offer Davis a fair trial.
The law group says, Under Nevada Law, a new trial could be granted.
“Mr. Davis is entitled to a full and fair retrial, free from outside influence or premature judgment,” said the CEGA Law Group.
Davis remains in custody at the Clark County Detention center awaiting his trial related to the the 1996 death of Tupac Shakur set to begin in 2026.
