LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Foundation, in partnership with Resorts World, recognized 911 dispatchers Kacy Rafferty and Alicia Rivera Wednesday with the Good Ticket Award.

The two were recognized for remaining clam and focused while relaying important information to the officers responding during a high-speed chase across the Las Vegas Valley involving a murder suspect linked to three carjackings last month.

“Most of the time we’re the voice behind the badge. We’re doing all this stuff behind the scenes, all the the events that you watch on the news. We’re all part of it,” Rafferty explained.

The Good Ticket program recognizes Metro officers and other employees for their positive actions in the community.

“I’m really happy and I hope they continue to recognize more civilian employees as well,” Rivera added. “The department runs off of what everything, everybody does as a team. Not one person does anything alone. We all help each other out to achieve that goal.”

Metro said the dispatchers were instrumental in safely arresting 19-year-old suspect Aerion Warmsley the morning of March 27th. The day’s events started in North Las Vegas.

An arrest report revealed the North Las Vegas Police Department responded to a deadly shooting at Aliante Casino shortly before 5:30am. The victim was later identified as former Nevada state senator Pat Spearman’s son, Na’Onche Osbourne.

Documents explain Warmsley and another person fled in a vehicle stolen out of Metro’s jurisdiction. Metro said within 30 minutes of the murder, there was a car accident near Spring Mountain and I-15. Officers responded to that scene, where a driver told them they were carjacked at gunpoint.

Metro said officers pursued the suspect in a high-speed chase of more than 100 miles an hour to Boulder Highway and Warmsley carjacks a second vehicle at a fast food restaurant.

Then, Metro said, there was another crash at Tropicana and Boulder Highway. The suspect crashed into a bus stop, hitting two people waiting. Metro said the suspect try to carjack another vehicle but jumped into the backseat.

The chase continued down Boulder Highway, stopping at Sahara after officers rammed the vehicle to a stop.

FOX5 obtained the 911 calls that detail the carjackings.

“It went across a big part of the city and it impacted a lot of areas,” Rivera remembered. “It was important to advise the UNLV police, school police, you know, all the jurisdictions.”

The LVMPD Foundation also provided FOX5 with a portion of the calls involving Rafferty and Rivera. They can be heard telling officers where the suspect was running, that he was armed and later in custody.

“I’m calling out for resources before the officers are asking for it because I’ve been on the department for so long I know what they need,” Rafferty recalled.

On top of the Good Ticket Award, the two dispatchers received a two-night stay at Resorts World, $500 in beverage tickets and tickets to a show of their choosing.

Warmsley faces dozens of charges, including murder with a deadly weapon, robbery, burglary, and battery. He is due back in court on May 5th.
