LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Safer streets are taking center stage in Las Vegas after city leaders approved a series of traffic safety improvements on Wednesday.

The Las Vegas City Council voted to implement several roadway enhancements across the community, including adjusted speed limits and new speed cushions. City officials say the goal is to curb speeding and prevent serious crashes.

The changes fall under the city’s broader Vision Zero initiative, an effort aimed at eliminating all traffic fatalities and severe injuries by 2050.
