LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — The Las Vegas Aviators are hosting their first Foster Care Night on Saturday, May 23, turning the ballpark into a celebration for foster kids and the families who care for them.
The event marks National Foster Care Awareness Month. First pitch against the Albuquerque Isotopes is at 7:05 p.m., but activities begin at 5:30 p.m.

Fans are asked to bring donations for local foster youth. Requested items include backpacks and school supplies, hygiene items, stuffed animals, toys, gift cards and books. Donations will be collected starting at 5:30 p.m. at the main gate.
The ballpark is partnering with the Foster Care Chamber of Commerce. The organization said the goal is to give kids in foster care a night of normalcy — just fun, baseball and community. More than two dozen groups are involved, making this one of the largest foster care awareness events in Southern Nevada this year.
Foster youth will receive complimentary tickets, plus special on-field recognition, scoreboard tributes and other surprises throughout the night. Fans can buy tickets through a special link, with a portion of the proceeds going back to the Foster Care Chamber of Commerce.
