LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – With hundreds of thousands of fans coming into the Las Vegas Valley for the Super Bowl, it will be hard to get around the city if you want to get behind the wheel.

FOX5 thought rental cars may be sold out for those who come into town for the big game so went out to look for ourselves to see what companies are dealing with.

“We have to make sure we have enough cars for Super Bowl,” Jenny Sanchez, co-owner of Autoverse Rental Car said.

Sanchez said they are busy counting how many cars they have left.

“We are already super booked and I’m expecting by February we are going to be out of cars,” Sanchez said.

Sanchez said their private car rental company is popular with tourists and locals.

“Most of our locals, they like renting family cars when they go out, actually, when they want to get out of the hustle and bustle,” Sanchez said.

She tells FOX5 that during Formula 1, they actually ran out of cars.

“One o’clock in the morning, we would get calls and we were like, ‘We don’t have anything available anymore, I’m sorry,’” Sanchez said.

Which is why they are shipping in more inventory from Florida to meet the demand. However, for locals who are looking to ride in style, you may need to pump the brakes on your plans.

“We plan on being completely sold out at this point,” Akira Brown, owner of Diplomat Exotic Rental said.

Brown is not sure if his luxury cars will be able to keep up with the demand.

“It is going to be tough for a local to get a car, to be honest with you. We are doing a three-day minimum right now, and normally locals get the cars for four hours to 24 hours,” Brown said.

Brown said he also learned a hard lesson during Formula 1.

“We ended up selling out also at that point we had to turn off phones,” Brown said.

Both companies FOX5 spoke with advise that if you know you need a rental car to get out of town that weekend, or you have a special occasion, you should start making those calls now.

However, it is still not a guarantee you will get a car.
