LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – A Las Vegas man is under arrest accused of shooting his mother’s boyfriend to death during a domestic dispute.

Las Vegas Metropolitan Police say it happened around eleven Sunday morning at an apartment complex near Bonanza and Pecos Roads.

Detectives say a woman was arguing with her boyfriend when it turned physical. They say the son, who lives with his mother, intervened.

“Her son, who identified himself as the shooter, exited his room and intervened in the dispute between her and her boyfriend. When he intervened, that turned into a physical altercation, during which he produced a firearm and shot the boyfriend,” Lt. Jason Johansson told FOX5.

Paramedics pronounced the boyfriend dead at the scene. The coroner has not yet released his identity, but detectives say he was in his 50s.

Detectives say the son is cooperating with their investigation.
