LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Magician and Las Vegas Strip headliner Mat Franco received a Key to the City from Mayor Shelley Berkley during The Animal Foundation’s 23rd annual “Best in Show” fundraiser Sunday at the Thomas & Mack Center, according to Caprio Media Design.

Berkley and Franco served as celebrity judges for the event, which raises money for the nonprofit’s animal welfare programs. During the program, Berkley surprised Franco with the honor, citing his philanthropic efforts and impact on the Las Vegas community.

Franco is marking the 10th anniversary of his residency, “Mat Franco — Magic Reinvented Nightly,” at The LINQ Hotel, according to Caprio Media Design.

The show opened in 2015 and is known for interactive magic, humor, and storytelling, the media team stated.

“I’m incredibly grateful and honestly a bit speechless,” Franco said in a statement. “Las Vegas has been my home for the past 10 years, and to be recognized in this way, especially at an event that supports such an important cause, means the world to me.”

Franco recently signed a five-year extension with Caesars Entertainment and is set to remain at The LINQ through 2030, Caprio Media said.

The “Best in Show” event drew supporters from across the Las Vegas Valley and raised funds for The Animal Foundation’s services.
