LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – A Las Vegas man charged with eight felonies in connection with a November 2023 murder will remain in custody without bail.

Major Sanford was arrested on November 9, 2023 after Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department investigators identified him as the suspect in a deadly apartment shooting. Officers found one man suffering from an apparent gunshot wound when they arrived on the 400 block of S. 10th St.

Medical personnel responded to the scene and declared the victim dead. Sanford was reportedly seen shooting into the man’s apartment and leaving the scene.

Sanford is facing an open murder charge, two counts of owning or possessing a gun by a prohibited person, and four counts of discharging a gun into an occupied structure. He also has a pair of felony charges pending in another case.

During a January 11 hearing in Clark County Justice Court, Judge Melissa Saragosa ordered the defendant to continue to be held without bail. His next court appearance is set for January 25.
