WASHOE COUNTY, Nev. (KOLO) – Update at 11:43 a.m.: Storey County says westbound I80 near USA Parkway is now open.
Original Article: A plane crash-landed on I-80 west at mile marker 28 near Patrick just before 8:00 a.m. on Oct. 22, 2026.
No injuries were reported.
Storey County Fire Department told KOLO 8 that the plane had a single occupant.
It was unclear if there was damage to any other vehicles on the road.
Fire officials said the Nevada Division of Environmental Protection is responding to aviation fuel that spilled on the roadway.
Storey County posted on X that all westbound travel lanes are closed and it is unclear when they will reopen.
The crash was visible from Nevada 511 traffic cameras.
