LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Champions for CASA held its first culinary connection experience to support foster children and the court advocates who support them.
The event raised funds while giving foster children the opportunity to build skills and confidence by working in the kitchen with professional chefs. Participants also connected with local leaders, supporters and CASA volunteers.

CASA stands for Court Appointed Special Advocate. The volunteers support children in the foster care system by advocating for them in court and in their everyday lives with biological parents, foster parents, therapists, teachers and doctors.
“They start in the court system and they advocate throughout the court system as well as within their everyday lives with their biological parents, their foster parents, their therapists, their teachers, their doctors,” said Jennifer Page, board president of Champions for CASA. “And make sure that that child has someone by their side. And so we’re looking for more people to get involved.”
Clark County has approximately 3,000 children and teens in the foster care system.
Those interested in getting involved can visit Champions for CASA’s website for more information.
