LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — A police officer was shot and transported to a hospital Monday after a suspect barricaded himself inside a home and opened fire on officers, police said.
Officers responded around 12:29 a.m. to a reported shooting near Buffalo and Peace streets. When they arrived, a suspect had barricaded himself inside the residence and set the home on fire.
Police say the suspect fired at officers through a door, striking one officer. That officer was transported to a hospital. No update on the officer’s condition was available at the time of this report.
The scene remained active as of the initial report. Additional information is expected to be released by a public information officer as the situation develops.
