LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — The death of a pedestrian struck while crossing Boulder Highway on a scooter has become the 59th traffic-related fatality in the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s jurisdiction in 2026, police said.
LVMPD reported the crash happened around 9:45 p.m. July 10 at Boulder Highway and Flamingo Road.
Investigators said evidence at the scene, witness statements and surveillance video indicate a 2013 Hyundai Sonata was traveling northbound when a pedestrian on a Razor scooter crossed Boulder Highway from east to west and did not obey the walk/don’t walk signal.
Police said the pedestrian entered the Hyundai’s path and was struck by the front of the vehicle, suffering serious injuries.
The pedestrian was taken to Sunrise Hospital, where she later died despite medical efforts.
The driver stayed at the scene and showed no signs of impairment, police said.
No injuries were reported by the Hyundai’s occupants.
