LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Police say a Las Vegas man has been arrested and is facing a felony charge after allegedly sending his mother an email threatening a shooting at Las Vegas High School.

According to an arrest report, Christopher Reeves, 48, sent the email on Friday, April 17, that said, “I am going to shoot as many people as I can and shoot up Las Vegas High School.”

His mother told police she believed the threat was credible and called the school because it was different from the messages she typically receives from him.

She also told officers she believed he was experiencing mental health issues and held delusional beliefs, including that she was involved with the FBI or CIA, the arrest report states.

Las Vegas police say the school increased security after the report, with a Clark County School District officer requesting four additional patrol officers, along with a sergeant and a lieutenant, to respond.

Police note they did not see the suspect on campus and found nothing unusual.

Officers later located Reeves at a Henderson Barnes & Noble and took him into custody without incident that same day, according to investigators.

The report also lists prior police incidents involving Reeves, including an alleged temporary protection order violation in March 2026 and multiple harassment reports in 2025 and 2026.

Reeves is currently being held without bail at the Clark County Detention Center.

He is due back in court on May 5.
