LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Las Vegas police said an armed man has been taken into custody after threatening to harm a child Wednesday night.
Officials with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said the incident started as a domestic violence report just before 7:30 p.m. in the 5900 block of Bright Rose Drive, near Tropicana Avenue and Boulder Highway. While police were responding to the call, officers were updated that the man had taken a baby and was armed with a firearm.
Police were advised that he was going to harm the child. When officers arrived, they found his vehicle and forced him to a vehicle stop near Maryland Parkway and University Avenue.
Police say the baby was rescued, and the suspect has been taken into custody.
Police say detectives are still on scene conducting an investigation, but there are no other outstanding subjects in this incident. Police did not immediately provide the condition of the baby or the suspect.
