LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – A mobile home in the Moapa Valley went up in flames early Monday morning – now investigators say it was no accident and they’ve made an arrest in connection with the deadly blaze.

The Moapa Valley Fire District was called to a home in Logandale around 1:45 on January 8th. Flames engulfed the building. Firefighters found an elderly woman in a shower in the home. She did not survive.

Las Vegas Metropolitan Police deemed the fire suspicious. They detained 31-year-old Clifton Hall at the scene and called in homicide detectives.

Detectives say Hall started the fire knowing the elderly resident was inside. They arrested him on open murder and first-degree arson charges.

The Clark County Coroner’s Office will release the victim’s identity, as well as her cause and manner of death after her family has been notified.
