LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – A 64-year-old man is dead after being hit by a car while running across the road on Sunday night.
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department responded to the crash on Paradise Road, north of the intersection with East Harmon Avenue. A preliminary investigation revealed that, around 8:42 p.m., a dark blue 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe was exiting a private drive on Paradise, when a male pedestrian ran across the street.
Police say the crash occurred when the front of the Chevrolet struck the pedestrian, projecting him down onto the roadway.
The pedestrian was transported to Sunrise Hospital’s Trauma Center for life-threatening injuries.
“The collision remains under investigation by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s Collision Investigation Section,” LVMPD noted in a release.
