LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — A man is dead after a shooting in northeast Las Vegas Wednesday night.

Officials with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said the shooting happened just before 4:30 p.m. in the 5300 block of E. Craig Road, near Las Vegas Boulevard North. Lt. Monique Rodriguez said police received reports of a man shot at an apartment complex.

When officers arrived, they found the victim, described as a 27-year-old Black man, inside a vehicle and began to provide aid, but he died at the scene.

According to early details from police, the victim was talking to a friend when he was shot multiple times. Two men fled from the scene.

Rodriguez said the victim was not a known resident at the complex. No one has yet been detained or arrested. Rodriguez said there are no available descriptions of the suspects yet.

Police say the shooting is an isolated incident and there is no threat to the public.

The Clark County Coroner’s Office will reveal the deceased’s identity.
