LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — A motorcycle rider died Saturday after a vehicle collision at the intersection of East Owens Avenue and North 23rd Street, according to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.

The crash occurred at approximately 9:23 a.m. A stolen 2021 Kawasaki motorcycle was traveling eastbound on Owens Avenue in the right travel lane when a 2010 Chevrolet, stopped westbound on Owens Avenue east of 23rd Street, failed to yield the right-of-way and turned left onto 23rd Street, crossing the motorcycle’s path of travel.

Rider ejected, transported with life-threatening injuries

The front of the Kawasaki struck the right front of the Chevrolet, ejecting the rider. Medical personnel transported the rider to the UMC Trauma Center with life-threatening injuries. Despite life-saving measures, the rider was pronounced deceased by medical staff.

Chevrolet driver cooperated with investigators

The driver of the Chevrolet was transported to the UMC Emergency Room with minor injuries. The driver cooperated with the investigation and did not display signs of impairment, according to LVMPD.
