LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — North Las Vegas police say a man who was shot during an argument last week has died, and the suspect will now face a murder charge.
Officers were called around 12:38 a.m. April 17 to the 5600 block of Wedgefield Street, near Ann and Losee roads, for a 32-year-old man with an apparent gunshot wound, according to the North Las Vegas Police Department. Police said the victim was arguing with another adult man when he was shot. The suspect left before officers arrived.
North Las Vegas Fire Department crews took the victim to UMC Trauma Center in critical condition, police said.
Detectives were notified April 24 that the victim had succumbed to his injuries. The victim’s identity, along with the cause and manner of death, will be released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office, police said.
Investigators identified 22-year-old Daniel Jeremiah Smith as the suspect, police said. Smith was arrested April 17 on a charge of attempted murder with a deadly weapon and will now be recharged with open murder.
