LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Michaels is hosting a series of in-store classes to help children make personalized Mother’s Day presents, including a free Kids Club event.

On May 3 from 1 to 3 p.m., families can use pre-cut Cricut vinyl designs to decorate a mug or tumbler. Customers buy the mug or cup, and Michaels provides the rest of the supplies.

On May 9 from 10 a.m. to noon, the free Kids Club lets children create a flower-stamped card and a necklace shaped like a heart.

On May 10 from 1 to 3 p.m., there’s a demonstration on decorating Mother’s Day balloons with bows and making a floral mason jar. Customers buy the jar and the store provides the materials.

Michaels said more than half of its customers are turning to DIY gifts to save money and make something more personal for mom.

Customers should check their local store for specific times and availability.
