LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — A minibike rider is in critical condition after a collision with a pickup truck Wednesday night, police say.
The crash occurred at approximately 10:33 p.m. at Wisteria Avenue and Shawnee Avenue, according to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.

Evidence at the scene, witness statements and video surveillance indicate that a non-street-legal minibike traveled southbound on Wisteria Avenue, approaching Shawnee Avenue. At the same time, police say a 2019 Ram 1500 was traveling northbound on Wisteria Avenue, approaching Shawnee Avenue.
Police say the collision occurred when the Ram made a left turn as the minibike reached the intersection. The front of the Ram struck the minibike, redirecting it to the north. The Ram left the roadway and came to a controlled stop in the intersection’s northwest corner.
Emergency medical personnel transported the minibike rider to University Medical Center’s Trauma Center, where he remains in life-threatening condition. His identity has not been released.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
