LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — The Nevada Senate Democratic Caucus has elected Sen. Edgar Flores as Senate majority leader for the upcoming legislative session.
Flores is an attorney and his work has focused on consumer protection, workers’ rights and immigrant advocacy, the caucus said in a release Thursday.

Flores said in a statement that he is honored by his colleagues’ trust.
“I am deeply honored by the trust my colleagues have placed in me to lead our caucus. Our state faces urgent challenges, and working-class Nevadans are counting on us to deliver real solutions,” Flores said. “From expanding access to affordable housing and healthcare to investing in our neighborhood public schools and making sure our economy works for everyday people. I am excited to get to Carson City and work with our colleagues in the Assembly and Governor-elect Aaron Ford to build a Nevada where every community has the resources and opportunities to thrive.”
The Senate Democratic Caucus says it will prioritize lowering the cost of living, strengthening worker protections, fully funding schools and expanding economic opportunity across the state under Flores’ leadership, according to the caucus.
Flores and the Senate Democratic leadership team will spend the coming weeks organizing committees and finalizing the caucus’ legislative framework for the session, the caucus said.
