LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — An Olympic-sized pool is coming to Las Vegas this year.
Officials recently announced plans to open the outdoor pool this year at the Pavilion Pool Complex, located near Pavilion Center and Alta Drives.

The new facility, located next to the Veterans Memorial Community Center, is expected to ease demand for pool space while also providing a dedicated training venue for competitive athletes and aspiring Olympians. The addition will also expand swimming options for the community.

Funding for the project includes a $1 million donation from the Sandpipers of Nevada, a nearly $9 million grant through the Southern Nevada Public Lands Management Act, and city general funds.
An official opening date is expected to be announced soon.
