LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – The North Las Vegas Police Department has arrested a third suspect in connection with a deadly shooting that happened last fall.
Officers initially responded to a shooting call on the 20 block of Hoke Edward Court on October 2, 2023. Officers arrived on the scene and found a male victim, believed to be in his 20s, suffering from a gunshot wound.
Medical personnel responded to the scene and the victim was pronounced dead. NLVPD Homicide Detectives were notified and took over the investigation.
Through the course of their investigation, detectives identified 21-year-old Keara Drayer as a suspect in this case. On October 3, 2023, Drayer was taken into custody and booked into the North Las Vegas Community Correctional Center on charges of open murder and challenging to fight with a deadly weapon.
Detectives identified Tavion Tinsley, 20, as a second suspect in this case. On November 1, 2023, Tinsley was taken into custody by the Criminal Apprehension Team (CAT) at an apartment complex on the 5800 block of W. Charleston Blvd. NLVPD homicide detectives booked Tinsley into the North Las Vegas Community Correctional Center on a charge of open murder with a deadly weapon.
Investigators then identified Ava Rayburn, 19, as a third suspect in the case. An arrest warrant was issued for Rayburn on the charges of open murder with a deadly weapon, burglary while in possession of a firearm, and fighting and/or challenging to fight with a deadly weapon.
The third suspect has a court appearance scheduled for January 16.
