LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — The Shade Tree is asking for help to make Mother’s Day special for moms staying at its North Las Vegas shelter.

The shelter is collecting new donations for a one-day Mother’s Day boutique, where children living there can shop privately for free gifts for their mothers.

The shelter is asking for items like bath and body products, jewelry and other fashion accessories, figurines, perfume, handbags, and wallets.

Wrapping supplies are also needed, including gift bags, wrapping paper, tissue paper, and bows.

Volunteers inside the facility set up the Mother’s Day boutique. Children staying at The Shade Tree are invited to visit the boutique and, with the help of volunteers, pick out gifts for their mothers. Their selections are then wrapped for the children to present to their moms for Mother’s Day.

Donations can be dropped off through Wednesday, April 29 at the shelter, located at 1 West Owens Ave.

Drop-off hours are 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Donors can drive up to the gate to be let in or schedule a donation appointment online or by calling 702-385-0072.

The Shade Tree is a 24-hour publicly accessible shelter designed to meet the needs of those escaping domestic violence, human trafficking and homelessness, their children and pets through a partnership with Noah’s Animal House.
