LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — A pedestrian was killed Saturday night after being struck by an SUV on northbound I-11, according to the Nevada State Police.
The crash occurred at approximately a little before 11 p.m. on Aug. 1, 2026, just south of the Martin Luther King Boulevard northbound off-ramp.
A preliminary investigation indicates that a gray 2024 Toyota BZ4X SUV was traveling northbound when a pedestrian entered the travel lane directly in front of the vehicle.

In an effort to avoid a collision, the driver of the Toyota overcorrected to the right but was unsuccessful. The SUV struck the pedestrian before traveling into another lane and coming to a stop on the outside shoulder.
The driver of the Toyota remained at the scene and is cooperating fully with investigators, authorities said.
The pedestrian suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The Clark County Coroner’s Office is expected to identify the pedestrian.
The collision remains under investigation by the Nevada State Police Highway Patrol Major Incident Reconstruction Team.
According to NHP, this marks the 40th fatal crash investigated by the Highway Patrol’s Southern Command in 2026, bringing the region’s traffic death toll to 43 fatalities so far this year.
