LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — A pedestrian suffered life-threatening injuries after being struck by a vehicle on E. Flamingo Road on Saturday night.

The collision occurred on June 13 at approximately 9:14 p.m. on E. Flamingo Road east of S. Topaz Street, according to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s Collision Investigation Section.

Evidence at the scene and witness statements indicate the pedestrian was crossing E. Flamingo Road from south to north outside of a marked or unmarked crosswalk. A 2013 Lexus ES350 was traveling westbound on E. Flamingo Road in the westbound travel lanes when the pedestrian entered its path.

The front of the Lexus struck the pedestrian, projecting him in a western direction. The pedestrian came to rest in the westbound travel lanes.

The driver of the Lexus stopped on the side of the roadway and called 9-1-1.

Medical personnel transported the pedestrian to Sunrise Trauma for advanced medical intervention. The pedestrian was admitted into the Intensive Care Unit for continuous treatment.

The driver remained at the collision scene and showed no signs of impairment.

The collision remains under investigation.
